Zapdos will easily fill both spots, and also provide some needed muscle. Most teams will consider a Flying-type a must, and Electric-types are few and far between. Zapdos can be a good choice for your team regardless of buildup. Add some additional TM's like Thunderbolt or Thunder, and Zapdos will mow down most enemies easily. Zapdos is found at level 50 knowing Drill Peck, Thunder Wave, Detect, and Agility. The Thunder bird, Zapdos, is arguably the strongest of the three Legendary Birds. Once done, Route 19 is the next challenge. If you make it faint or if you run away, it will not appear again. As with any legendary Pokémon, save before battling Zapdos. Save the Master Ball for a much tougher foe ahead. On Fuchsia City, Ultra Balls, superior, are sold. You could skip the dungeon with repels and go right for Zapdos at the end, if you don't feel like playing. Save often, as a couple of the Poké Ball items are actually unique overworld wild Electrode Pokémon that do not respawn. It's home to Electric-type Pokémon, including the winged mirage Zapdos. The Power Plant is yet another "dungeon," not very long and with an almost linear straightforward layout, fortunately for your nerves. The Power Plant isn't needed to finish the game's storyline, but is needed to complete the Pokédex and go through what the game has to offer you. You'll be surfing from Route 10, which is next to Cerulean City and just before entering Rock Tunnel. Now with the Surf ability, backtracking is needed to explore previously spotted water bodies, and there's a hidden Power Plant awaiting in one of the several areas that you once got past and have long moved on.
